I'm not the biggest fan of New Year's resolutions because I don't see anything special in January 1st; the fact that it marks the beginning of a new cycle of 365 days doesn't help me to feel more motivated for some reason, and besides, I think that any day of the year is as goos as the next to tell yourself "I want to do this" if that's what makes you happy. Another reason is also that I'm never able to stick to them.. but it's mainly for the former reason tho.
On the other hand, I've tried compiling lists of goals in the past, mostly because I felt pressured to do it - silly me - as I saw lots of friends very motivated and eager to do, change, or try new things in the upcoming year.
As I've mentioned, however, all this attempt have miserably led to nothing as a) I completely forgot about those goals as the year went by, and b) I struggled to keep my motivation high for lack of incentives.
To stay true to myself - or better - to avoid lying to myself, I decided not to write a list of resolutions this year, but instead a list of 'things I'd like to do' without the pressure of having to stick to it; a bucket list, basically.
Definitely not in order of importance, that's what's on the list:
- Keep up with my Filofax
- Work on more products for my Etsy Shop
- Exercise more, ha
- Graduate University (that would be about time)
- Get my half sleeve tattoo done
- Host a new snail mail project
- Read at least 5 books
- Start a new scrapbook
- Keep an art journal
- Always write more
And you, how do you feel about NY resolutions? If you have a bucket list for 2015 feel free to share it, I'd love to hear about what you wish to accomplish this year ☺
