#the100DayProject: 100 Days of SnailMailLove - week 2

It's already time for part 2 of the weekly recap of my daily project!

This week was all about stationery - more then ever! - as in the UK it was National Stationery Week.

It was the perfect excuse for me to post some of my letter-writing & stationery related drawings, as well as for going a little bit crazy with my pen shopping!

During the week I also got to visit Pick Me Up, a very cool graphic arts festival, (I'll post more about it soon!) where among other things, I got to leave my mark on a guestbook/sticker wall. Can you spot it? β˜Ί

Again, if you've joined the project, let me know as I'd love to see!

#the100DayProject: 100 Days of SnailMailLove - week 1

On April 19th, I've joined the 100 Day Project, an event that encourages you to pick a theme, and post a picture every day for 100 days. Because I haven't been feeling completely happy with my letter writing/mail related endeavours, I decided that my theme would be: 100 Days of Snail Mail Love, meaning I'd share anything and everything related to these topics, from letter to illustrations, stationery products, and stores I might visit.

This is a little visual recap of what I've posted during my first week. If you wish to read more about each picture, you can find it all on instagram.

What do you think of this project? If you've joined it yourself, let me know your hashtag so I can follow your progresses ☺

SPSH Reveal Day pt. 2

 photo cred: @papertraildiary .

photo cred: @papertraildiary.

I've been loving seeing everyone's post about what they sent and received for the Secret Penpal Scavenger Hunt, and today I want to share with you some of my favourite bits and pieces.

Handmade goodies: a cute notebook and a cross-stitched monogram, a matchbox diorama, and lavender satchel.

Beautiful lettering: on one of the boxes, on a little handmade booklet, and on the parcel tags.

Animal love: because who doesn't like animals, right?

If you want to read more about some of the participants' experience, check out these blog posts: the Paperdashery, Naomi Loves, Paper Trail Diary, A Peachy Keen Day, Quaint Little Villages, MarineGirlAdventures; or browse the Instagram tag.

PS. If you've shared a blog post and I've missed it, let me know and I'll add it here.

SPSH Reveal Day pt. 1

It's finally time for everyone to reveal what they got and sent for the Secret Penpal Scavenger Hunt 2016!

It was so exciting to see, once again, so many people being interested in the project and putting together their parcels with lots of care. Not so exciting, instead, was that I couldn't join my own swap.. yep, there were some issue with a couple of people that for one reason or another couldn't any longer participate when the time came, so instead of sacrificing someone else, I stepped down from the fun myself.

It still didn't keep me from having fun just by looking at all the wonders on the SPSH tag on IG. In fact, these are just a few of my favourite pictures that have been posted.

In a couple of days, I'll be posting more eye candy for you, and we'll finally see what was inside all these lovely parcels! β™₯

ANGELS

Signing up as an Angel means that you are showing your availability to send a package to whoever may end up empty handed. Unfortunately, despite trying my absolute best to keep everything under control, there is always a chance that something like this may happen. Only if this occurs, you'll be then contacted and matched with a new person.

Being an Angel is obviously optional and completely up to you.

ELIGIBILITY

In order to participate, as mentioned above, you're required to either be an active blogger, Instagram user, or being a member of the Postal Society. Last year I was quite permissive, but this time all the entries will undergo a more detailed check to prevent any flakers. I grant myself the right not to accept everyone unconditionally, so if I don't consider you eligible, I'm sorry but I'll have to keep you out of this round.

FAQS

Mailbox Monday: the Travelling Notebook is Back!

Do you remember the Travelling Notebook project I started last year in October? Well, last March, after ~5 months of travelling, it finally came home to me!

I've had a few scares throughout its journey, but slowly but surely, it always ended up at its destination.

It left my hometown on November 1th, and travelled to Spain, England, the Netherlands, Norway, Germany, and Belgium!

Each person had to fill in 4 pages: 1 about them, 1 about their town/country, and the remaining 2 with anything they wanted. I must say I'm quite please with the result and it's nice to see many different styles all mixed into one single journal.

Anyway, I finally had time to share it with you all, but Instead of posting a million pictures, I thought I'd try and make a stop-motion kind of video of it,

to make it a little bit more interesting, hopefully β˜Ί Here it is:

A HUGE thank you to the ladies that made this round possible: Tania, Vanessa, Janine, Thea, Elisabeth, Elodie, & Ramona.

Have you ever joined/hosted a TN project? How did it go?

The Secret Penpal Scavenger Hunt 2015

If you've followed my blog for a while, you may remember the big swap I hosted a few times altready now: the Secret Penpal Scavenger Hunt!

What is it?

It is a swap aimed two connect to strangers via mail by having them randomly paired, and exchanging a package full of wonders!

  3. After max. 12 days from the revealing of the list, you'll have to send out your parcel and email me a picture of it for proof.
  4. Once you receive your parcel from your "secret penpal" you'll have to make a post on your platform of choice and share it on the set date.

Some additional things you may want to know:

  • This project is completely free to join, the only condition is that you have to be an active blogger, or even very active on Instagram or a user of The Postal Society. (read more about it below)
  • However, you can support it by donating, or sign up to be an 'angel'. (read more about it below)

Deadlines:

Sign ups close on February 16th.
You'll receive your match and list on February 19th.
Your package needs to be sent out by February 26th.
You'll receive an email every few days to remind you of all the deadlines.

Donations & Angels:

As I mentioned above, this year I'm introducing donations. Why, you may ask: well, that's because last year a small handful of people ended up not receiving their package. As much as I'd love to be able to send them all something, I unfortunately don't have the means to do it on my own, so any amount I'll receive via donations will go towards a fund to be used in case of emergency.
However, donations aren't just that. To reward you for your generosity, you'll be entitled to the following:

  • You'll receive your match on February 16th, so you'll have some extra days to hunt & ship.
  • You'll receive a postcard from me, as a thank you for being extra awesome, OR in the event of not having to use that money towards the swap, I will send you something from my etsy shop of equal value to your donation.

Another way to help, would be signing up to be an 'angel', that is showing your availability to send a package to whoever may end up empty handed.

Both those possibilities are obviously optional and completely up to you.

Eligibility

In order to participate, as mentioned above, you're required to be an active blogger either on Blogspot, Wordpress or Tumblr, or even very active on Instagram or being a member of the Postal Society. Last year I was quite permissive, but this time all the entries will undergo a more detailed check to prevent any flakers. I grant myself the right not to accept everyone unconditionally, so if I don't consider you eligible, I'm sorry but I'll have to keep you out of this round.

Travelling Notebook

A little bit longer than 2 years ago, I decided to have a little notebook travelling around Europe to 8 different people, giving them the task to complete 4 pages in a creative way.

The project was really nice, it went smoothly and I loved the outcome of it, and since I've found another small notebook such as that one, I thought why not giving the travelling notebook another go!

snailmaillove_travelling_notebook.jpg

I'm looking for 8 people (preferably from Europe but if I don't meet the number I may accept people from other countries as well) willing to participate in this round of the project.

You'll have to fill 4 pages (8 front/back): 1 about you, 1 about your town/country, and 2 in the theme you want. You can use any style you like: collage, drawing, painting.. anything you fancy! Just try and stay away from using materials that are too heavy not to weight down the notebook too much to keep the postage costs as low as possible.

If you're interested, please comment below with your blog url+country and I'll pick 8 people and get in touch β˜Ί I'd like to have the notebook on route by the end of the month, and back to me by February. Anyway, I'll email further instructions to all of you that are going to join!

I hope some of you will be interested, it should be fun!
